Dr Helen Shaw's success at the World Championships!

Huge congratulations to VCTC's very own Co-founder and Head of Clinical Operations, Dr Helen Shaw!
We’re proud to celebrate Helen Shaw (nee Kirkby) , who recently competed in the Masters World Short Track Championships in Canada as part of Team GB .
Helen had an incredible competition, bringing home four individual medals. She won gold in the 500m, securing her place as a Masters World Champion for another year!
She also claimed silver in the 777m, 1000m, and 1500m, rounding off an outstanding performance. On top of that, she competed in the GB mixed relay team, which set a new Masters British record (pending ratification) and finished 2nd in the B final.
A total of eight skaters represented Great Britain, ranging in age from 38 to 78, showcasing an inspiring level of dedication and commitment to the sport across generations.
Alongside being a world-class athlete, Helen is Co-Founder and Head of Clinical Operations at VCTC. Her perseverance - both on the ice and in clinical research - reflects the values we hold as a company. Hard work, determination, and striving for excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
During her time in Canada, Helen also had the honour of visiting the Apex store to be fitted for a pair of custom boots - a rare opportunity, as only around 400 pairs are produced each year!
Please join us in congratulating Helen on this fantastic achievement - we look forward to seeing her continue to succeed and inspire!
